Meet Loreal

midwest mother + photographer.

I make photographs to slow time down.

As a mother and artist, I am deeply drawn to the fleeting — the hand tugging at a dress hem, the softness of morning light across tired eyes, the quiet pauses between chaos. These are the moments that often pass a little too quickly and are the ones, I believe, we ache to hold onto most.

Through my lens, I seek to create images that feel lived-in, honest, and reverent of what is real. I work across digital and analog formats, embracing texture and imperfection, knowing they lend soul to memory. Whether it’s the dreamy impermanence of film or the intimate grain of Super 8, each frame carries a heartbeat.

My work is not about perfection — it’s about presence. About crafting visual heirlooms for families who see beauty in the subtle and sentimental. About making space for what matters now, and what will matter even more when looked back upon decades from today.

This is what guides me, camera in hand, always.

That feeling of cracking open your momma’s scrapbook!

A young girl in a plaid dress, white tights, black shoes, and a red cardigan stands on a stone step outdoors, smiling at the camera. In the background, a group of six adults stands under a bridge in a wooded area during late fall or winter.
A mother and father kiss their newborn baby on the cheeks indoors.
A woman and four children holding hands and standing in line outdoors in front of a white sheet backdrop.
Two young boys lying on a colorful patchwork quilt. The older boy is smiling and wearing a striped shirt, while the younger boy appears to be relaxed and is dressed in a blue outfit with a matching navy scarf around his neck. There is a yellow leaf decoration on the quilt.
