In Home for the Holidays

Photos that prove the magic of having a baby during Christmas; be prepared to have your heart filled with pure joy.

We’ve all heard it said that there’s no place like home for the holidays; how much truer does that notion become when there’s a precious newborn in the mix?! Spending a cozy morning with six week old Evi and her parents within the walls of their beautiful home definitely placed me right in the Christmas spirit.

I had captured a part of their journey on the way to parenthood this past summer — so it felt like one big gift wrapped in a pretty bow to be back with them now that their special addition was earth side. As a family photographer, not much brings me more happiness than being invited in to witness your story in all of it’s many seasons.

I can imagine that having a baby during the Christmas season is truly a magical experience. The joy and excitement of welcoming a new life into the world combines perfectly with the festive spirit that fills the air. The feeling of holding your little one in your arms while surrounded by twinkling lights and holiday glimmer is simply awe-inspiring.

Of course, it can also be quite challenging to navigate the busy schedules that come with this time of year in combination with the ever changing needs of a little one. This made choosing an at-home session for their newborn photos an even clearer choice. They were able to casually start the day with coffee, supply feedings as needed, play some favorite tunes, and cozy up under all the holiday cheer.

As a newer mother myself, I can agree that the holiday season becomes even more meaningful when you have a little one to share it with. From creating new traditions to watching their eyes light up at the sight of colorful presents, every moment becomes infused with an extra dose of wonder. So grateful we have the chance to embrace this special time and cherish these precious moments!

These festive film shots were captured via a mix of 35mm cameras (including my all time favorite point and shoot). If you love the nostalgic cozy feeling of these photographs connect with Loreal + let her know you want an all film approach to your next session.
