Fall on Film at Crown Hill

A Fall Mini Session shot all on film at Indianapolis’ historic Crown Hill.

If I’m being entirely honest, I was a little nervous when I announced Crown Hill as one of the locations for this year’s family fall mini sessions. It truly is a breathtaking landscape but likely isn’t everyone’s first thought for updating their family portraits. Much to my surprise they were the first ones to get scooped up when families started booking! Thankfully many of these groups were returning clients who must have just trusted the vision along with my process and for that I am grateful. This family was no exception + I always have the best time creating with their crew! I especially love that they always opt for the film upgrades; making the most magic out of our quick time together.

This session was captured primarily with classic Kodak Portra 400 along with some Lady Grey from Lomography sprinkled in for those black and white shots, and of course an assortment of instant film frames.

My heart is warmed by all the little moments documented during this mini photo session; the family dog getting the memo on when to look at the camera vs his humans, brothers snuggling, the return of the family quilt for another session, big brother scavenging leaves + sticks, and the evergrowing love between them all!

This all film session was captured as part of the Fall 2024 mini sessions. If you missed this year’s minis, no worries, you can still book a single film roll session today for a similar look to your next family photos!
