The Coolest Mother Daughter Photos

Not your average mother daughter portraits; instead this was a creatively fulfilling collaboration between this Indianapolis family photographer and a vintage loving momma!

For a long time I had been itching to plan a session specifically with the purpose of comparing results from authentic 35mm film alongside photos from Fujifilm’s x100v film simulations. That concept became the driving force behind one of my monthly mailers this Spring and I had such a blast putting it to the test!

Even though this set was born from a desire to research and put gear to the test, it grew to become even more than that! I really enjoyed working closely with this mother daughter duo to plan wardrobe + overall vision for our time together. I’m a deep believer in photography serving as a tool to capture genuine moments but I also find there’s a time to wield it as an art to create something through gentle direction paired with intention.

The final results were photographs that feel creative, fresh, inspiring, and still full of emotive connection between a mother and her daughter. I am confident that this experience will be one they fondly look back on and get to realize just how cool they really are; and I will always be proud of what we created together.

We had an absolute blast during this photoshoot! I loved getting to work alongside Sarah to pick out wardrobe options for her + her daughter. If you’d like to see even more from this super cool set; check out my blog where I compared the 35mm to the fujifilm x100v simulations frame for frame!
